VIDASOUL
LA VINORAMA, BAJA CALIFORNIA, “VIDASOUL HOTEL”
Completely solar powered and unique with exquisite architecture this 16 room boutique hotel is set on a private beach on the East Cape. This modern hotel is adjacent to the Cabo Pulmo National Park & is 40 km from the town of San José del Cabo.
Featuring sea views and original modern art, the bright rooms come with flat-screen TVs, free Wi-Fi and in-room safes, and many offer direct beach access or balconies. Upgraded quarters add living/dining areas with amazing views.
Amenities include an outdoor pool, a beachfront restaurant serving Mexican and Italian cuisine, and a bar with beach service.
This hotel is definitely secluded and a place where you will be able to relax and unwind from the everyday hustle, completely off grid.
I was staying in Cabo and wanted to find a place a little more peaceful after a few days in the city so I started searching for nearby hotels on Expedia.com and this little gem popped up, at under $200.00 per night. I read the reviews and it sounded amazing.
Although it was quite the journey… the scenic route was taken thank goodness for the Jeep 4x4, the road was bumpy but the views were incredible, and even got to make friends with a donkey along the way. The lack of cell service started to cause some worry as the sun starting setting but good thing the GPS was still working.
Finally pulled into the parking lot and was met at the front desk, there seemed to be no one else staying there that night and luckily was able to upgrade to the Penthouse Suite. Walking into the room was unique art, panoramic views of the ocean through all the glass windows. The chef cooked up an amazing chicken dinner that evening and later retired to the big comfy king sized bed.
The next morning was awoken by the most beautiful sunrise. I hopped into the shower and admired the sea to sky views and I was completely amazed as I saw whales right in front of the room off into the distance… it was probably one of the most relaxing peaceful showers I have ever had as I watched them breach!
History of VIDASOUL:
The founders of the restaurant, Joan Hafenecker and son Tobias Hafenecker-Dodge, began selling sandwiches and Pacificos on the beach to surfers in 1998. They then built a modest palapa and started offering live music on Saturday night. After a few years of fighting the elements and the critters on the beach, Tobias decided to build a permanent structure to enable his mother to be happy for the long term. The evolution from tent to modern architecture was a long strange trip but now The Crossroads and VIDASOUL serve as an oasis, hotel, restaurant, community center and live music venue powered by 100 solar panels and an incredible, dedicated staff.
The modern architecture and attention to detail is always the first and most lasting impression when guests enter the hotel lobby. Most of the guests enter the property with an astonished look on their face and almost all ask, “How did you build this beautiful place out here?”
Many Thanks!
“Muchas Gracias”
