CABO SAN LUCAS, BAJA CALIFORNIA SUR “El Arco”

The Pacific Ocean meets the Sea of Cortez.

This gorgeous landmark of Cabo San Lucas is worldly visited by thousands of travellers yearly and it is nothing short of extraordinary.

Only accessible by boat.

The amazing sea life welcome you as you enter. It is known for the spectacular whale watching, dolphins and vast marine life. Oh and let’s not forget the gorgeous fish below and around the glass bottom boat.

This 200ft of granite rock formation erupted from the sea at the tip of the Baja Peninsula and we are forever grateful.

El Arco Mexico is a destination for travellers who come to see its spectacular natural shape…We come to celebrate love on a location only mastered by the sea, carved by the strong ocean currents dating back hundreds of years.

Centuries ago… El Arco was used as a hiding place by pirates. They would ambush and ransack merchant ships heading toward the West Coast.

When you visit El Arco de Cabo San Lucas, you’ll discover two beaches as one.

Playa de Amore

(Beach of Love)

Playa Divorcio

(Divorce Beach).

A little history about the beaches of love & divorce. There is an old tale about love and tragedy. In the 18th century, a beautiful local woman rescued a Japanese sailor at the Lands End. They fell madly in love at Playa de Amor. Their love was cut short as the Japanese sailor was rejected by her father. Her heart shattered into pieces as her father murdered the love of her life. Heartbroken she took her own life on Divorce Beach to be forever into eternity with her one true love.

Playa de Amore (Lovers Beach) is generally calm and it’s a great place to swim and spend the day, but if you venture into the waters of Playa Divorcio dangers are at bay as the waters are very rough and unsafe…the strong current will pull you to sea. Be Aware!

Playa del Amor (Lovers Beach)  is a must stop destination even for a few hours, you will be amazed by the gorgeous turquoise sea, musicians, and may even make friends with a Iguana. During low tide, an additional part of Lovers Beach becomes visible, allowing travelers to reach the arch by foot.

Historically, El Arco de Cabo San Lucas was known as the end of the world. This is because there is nothing but ocean to the south – it’s located at the southern end of Mexico’s Baja California Peninsula.

Playa Divorcio is great for laying on beach catching some sun rays, listening to some music, meeting amazing people and having a cerveza or...three!
